Back at it, Lads.

May 21, 2008

Well, hello there, everyone:)

I know that it’s been a ridiculously long time since I last posted on this site, but I am back and REALLY looking forward to getting back at this! There have been a true whirlwind of things happening this past year, so I am going to spend a couple of hours this evening, mulling over it all, so that I can keep everything straight when I start relating it all to you guys:)

Be sure to come back tomorrow, and OFTEN after that, to keep up to date with all the crazy happenings in the world of Saru!

Love to you all:)

You might ask what a giant, cartoon-like pirate ship is doing on a blog about Japan, but it really isn’t as unusual as you might think. This particular one is floating on a lake near Mt. Fuji. The name of the area is Hakone, a small resort town full of hot springs and sulphurous pits that people boil eggs in. No joke. Some friends and I had the pleasure of riding one of these boats (There are actually TWO of them!) on our way to some cabins that we had rented for the weekend. The weekend started-off on a pirate ship and continued to be absolutely fabulous to the end! There is certainly nobody out there that can accuse the Japanese of not enjoying a bit of Peter Pan fun every once in a while:)

Hello world!

Well, who would have ever thought that I would be here writing a blog?!

This is my first attempt at this kind of thing and is meant to be a sort of diary of my adventures around the world, and especially here in Japan. I have been living here for the past 6 years and have seen uncountable numbers of things that really should be shared wih people who are interested in, but have never had the chance to visit, Japan. I hope you all enjoy this!
